Meet Our NEW Members for March 2016!
The Lodge welcomed the year’s largest class of seventeen new members in March. Initiated into the Order were Mission Viejo residents Shelly Blair, Michelle Donovan, Jerry Flores, Johnna Gordon, Shawn Hughes, Jonathan Jarema, John Klein, and Andrea Kooiman. Laguna Niguel residents initiated were Manny Lee, and Austin Godfrey, and from Rancho Santa Margarita Mike Farber, and Tom Harlan. Other new members were, Jim and DeeDee Blair from Dana Point, and Julie Avalos of Fullerton, Mike Brown of Laguna Hills, and Jorge Curiel of Riverside. The impressive initiation ceremony was conducted by the new officers of the Mission Viejo Lodge who were recently installed in Office on March 20th for the Elk year 2016-17. New Exalted Ruler Dave McLeod of Mission Viejo welcomed the new members and complemented his corps of officers for a splendid initiation ritual. Each new member was introduced and was warmly greeted by the assembled group of Elks members. Following the ceremony, Leading Knight Mike Long of Dove Canyon commented, “This is one of the most spirited groups of initiates I’ve seen. They sure had fun tonight.” Long was quick to add, “But they all joined the Elks for the right reasons. They all want to give back to the community and help in our charitable work. It’s perfectly okay to have fun while you’re helping others.”
