SPECIAL NEEDS OUTREACH UPDATE – A NEW PARTNERSHIP IN OUR COMMUNITY
July 3, 2018
By Lane Keran, Esteemed Lecturing Knight

The Mission Viejo Saddleback Valley Elks #2444 Officer Corp is proud to share that our new and exciting partnership with the Saddleback Valley Unified District’s Esperanza Educational Center in Mission Viejo is under way! On July 3rd, we began a rare and remarkable community program, which invites special needs students from Esperanza to our lodge on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. These incredible students sweep our patio, clean our tables and chairs, and wash our windows. Their enthusiasm, work ethic, and smiles of accomplishment leave lasting impressions. Esperanza’s Principal Shelly Stewart, is extremely grateful our lodge has opened its doors to local special needs students, and we are thrilled to provide an opportunity for young adults to develop life skills at our lodge. If you happen to notice fewer leaves around our patio and cleaner tables and windows in our lodge, please know that some amazing students are working hard, and doing there best with pride and determination.
