Elks Ladies Chit-Chat

December 2017

Thanks to the Ladies Elks, our lodge was transformed into a winter wonderland on November 27th through December 1st when the lodge was decorated for the Snowflake Ball held on December 2nd which was a  sold- out crowd.  The food, as well as the entertainment provided by the Street Corner Band was superb.  The festivities continued thanks to Laura Lumley, our Ways and Means Chairman, who planned an exquisite Ladies Christmas Dinner held on December 11th.  The beautiful decorations, as well as holiday tunes, played by our organist, Andy Costello, put everyone in a very festive mood.  Pat Ohman was a wonderful MC all night.  A big “thank you” goes out to the set-up crew for this event:  Pat Ohman, Diana Wilson, Donna Wild,   Gina Hurley, Cindy McCullough, Sandy Jacobs, Cookie Akesson, Barbara Coppola, Gail Patti, and Steve Cagnacci.  Our drink servers:  ER Mike Long, Leading Knight Mike Klinger, Lounge Manager, Harvey Ohman and Elk of the Month Steve Cagnacci did a great job making sure everyone’s palate was quenched.  Our wonderful dinner was prepared by Chefs:  Bill Bongartz, Julie Thomas, Tiger Ed Griffen, Vicky Long, and Laura Lumley, and was served by:  PDDGER Harvey Boelts, PER, Dave McLeod, Riley Rose Ohman, and Claire Zimmer.  Tenders were Lavon and Christine.  Colorful Christmas ball bracelets, which served as napkin rings, were provided by Stephanie Bongartz, and miniature angels that lit up were provided by Barbara King. The highlight of the night was the audience being serenaded by the beautiful voices of the Mission Viejo High School Choir. They definitely kept everyone in a festive mood.

Please watch for details in the next bulletin of our next major event, the Annual Elks Ladies Fashion Show, which will be held on March 3, 2018.
On behalf of all of the ladies in the Ladies Elks, we would like to wish you and your friends and families a very happy and healthy holiday season!!
