Mission Viejo Elks Score Big at District Event

Mission Viejo Saddleback Valley Elks competed in the 7th Annual Orange Coast District Olympic Charity Games held at the Garden Grove Elks. Competitors from all 8 lodges in the district competed in a fun fill day hosted by the Garden Grove Elks at their spectacular facility with 10 horseshoe pits, basketball court, billiards room and grounds to hold all other events. Congrats to everyone from Mission Viejo Elks who competed: 8 Ball Pool – Gary Schmitt and Christine Jones; 501 Darts – Jim Stock and Kirk Wyrick, Lee Milton and Robert Herrmann; Horseshoes – Greg Morgan and Jim Doyle, Dave Perry and David Perry, Patrick Ellis and Dave Thieroff; Shuffleboard – Steve Steele and Chip Berger, Stu Urquhart and Mike Fenton; Cornhole – Julie Thomas and Gary Schmitt, Steve Steele and Chip Berger, Jim Stock and Kirk Wyrick; Ladder Golf – Lee Milton and Robert Herrmann, Stu Urquhart and Mike Fenton; Ping Pong Single – Tom Nestor; Hoop Shoot – Tom Nestor, Greg Morgan and Jim Doyle, Jim Stoch, Kirk Wyrick and Exalted Ruler Mike Klinger

A big special thanks goes to Garden Grove Past Lodge President, Rick Ross, and his team of Elks who have continued the passion of the games for seven straight years. The funds collected from the charity games will be donated to the state Major Project, the Purple Pig, paying for the therapists who work with disabled children at no costs to the families.
