Congratulations to Sheryn Howlett, February’s Elk of the Month! With Eugene Ralph as her proposer, Sheryn was initiated into our lodge on August 28, 2012. Her outstanding volunteer efforts have been, and continue to be, important contributions to the success of our programs. Sheryn often participates in numerous lodge activities, and is always willing to help set up and tear down before and after events. As a member of our Veterans Committee, she chaired a successful veterans breakfast and participated in taking food to Camp Pendleton for an active Marines lunch. Late last year, Sheryn and other Elks members from our lodge visited veterans for Bingo Night at the hospital in Long Beach. Sheryn handed out beautiful blankets to our veterans, which were made by special needs students from Esperanza, as part of our “Blankets for the Brave” program. While these are only a few examples of her volunteerism, Sheryn demonstrates a deep commitment in serving and supporting others through her caring and sharing work. Stop by the lodge on Tuesday nights and you’ll see Sheryn, who regularly attends our lodge meetings. The next time you see her, please take a moment to congratulate Sheryn on her outstanding achievement as Elk of the Month! Sheryn, thank you for all you do!
