For the past week Mission Viejo Saddleback Valley Elks members, family and friends have donated clothes for the Paradise Elks fire victims. The Ladies of the Sassy Quilters donated 7 new sheet sets, 7 new blankets, 10 sets of towels, new silverware sets, new glassware, new pots and pans, 3 containers of sheets, pillowcases, blankets, comforters. Bags of new clothing, bags of used clothing, numerous boxes of used clothing and linens. The list goes on. Paradise Elks Exalted Ruler, Jim Saxton, arrived at Orange County airport early Friday, MV Elks Chairman of the Board, Frank Scarpine, picked him up and drove directly to U-Haul. For two hours, Jim and MV Elks loaded the box-truck with donated kitchen items from the lodge and clothes from members and friends along with the Sassy Quilters. Jim stated, “we are so grateful to the Mission Viejo Elks and members from around the country for the generous donations. We WILL rise from the ashes”.   Donations loaded, Jim thanked everyone and immediately jumped on Interstate 5 and started his 9 hour trip back to Chico, CA.
